We’ve been building and flying drones for years, bringing all our years of experience in aviation, marine and civil engineering together.

In 2016 we obtained our Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) licenses including night rating meaning we’re approved and qualified to fly in the dark. Now we’re armed with a serious kitbag including our professional drones, high quality 4k cameras, the latest software and of course, public liability insurance.

Since then we’ve been working with businesses across the UK to create stunning film, images and high resolution surveys.

Perception Drones is a father and son run business operating from Cornwall and all the way up to Norfolk. Being the adventurous kind, we’d be delighted to travel around the world to capture the footage you need.

Mark (the brains) is an Avionics and Electronics Engineer with 15 years experience in the aviation industry, spending the past three years operating his own business. Before a 9 year stint in the RAF, he spent four years as a civil engineer working on various multimillion-pound projects throughout the UK.

In 2007 Mark decided to follow his passion for the outdoors and the sea, relocating to Cornwall. Working in the marine electronics industry he designed and installed electronics packages on superyachts, ranging from high-tech navigation systems to televisions that appear from nowhere!

Using his combined experience in engineering and project management coupled with his enthusiasm for new technology and high standards (thanks RAF), Mark can deliver high quality results in almost any situation.

Currently flying the Inspire 1 x5 Raw, capturing ground footage with an Osmo and proudly driving a Volkswagen T4.

Allen (the old man) is an ex-RAF senior technician with nearly 40 years experience in the aviation industry. Having travelled the world deploying his skills in aeronautical engineering and project management fixing all types of fast jets, Allen is now applying all his years of experience to unleashing the power of drone technology.

Allen was the driving force behind our passion for the drone industry by building a DJI F450 in the early days and quickly discovering the possibilities that drones could have in the commercial sector.

After many hours flying and building a number of custom drones, he has moved on to the Inspire 1 x5. In his spare time (when he’s not flying) he designs and builds custom-made carbon fibre fully retractable landing gear for various custom built drones.

Contact Mark and Allen to discuss how they can provide aerial imaging, surveys and film for you or your business.
